Day 2
TIGER'S NEST & BHUTAN'S SPIRITUAL HEART

Following breakfast, set out with your private guide for one of Bhutan’s most iconic experiences, the ascent to the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Dramatically perched on a sheer cliff face above the Paro Valley, this remarkable site is among the country’s most recognised landmarks and an essential highlight of any journey through Bhutan. The trail winds gently through pine forests, fluttering prayer flags, and peaceful mountain scenery, gradually opening up to sweeping views of the monastery set against the cliffs. Along the way, your guide will share the story of Guru Rinpoche, the history of Paro Taktsang, and the spiritual significance this sacred place holds within Bhutanese culture. Upon reaching the monastery, take time to explore its courtyards and temples, appreciate the views, and absorb the atmosphere before making your way back down through the forested trails.

Upon your descent, enjoy lunch at leisure before spending the afternoon as you wish. Accompanied by your guide, you may choose to explore the streets of Paro, browse local boutiques and artisan shops, or relax in one of the town’s cafés. Alternatively, return to COMO Uma Paro to unwind in the peaceful surroundings of the lodge, enjoy its wellness facilities, or explore the nearby forest trails on one of the complimentary mountain bikes. As evening approaches, unwind with a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath, a deeply restorative local ritual where heated river stones are placed into wooden baths to create naturally warm, mineral-rich water designed to relax the body after a day of exploration. The day concludes with a curated dinner inspired by Himalayan flavours and Bhutanese culinary traditions, offering a relaxed and elegant end to a day spent discovering one of Bhutan’s most remarkable landmarks.

Day 3
BAYTSHO LAKE HELICOPTER EXPEDITION

Following a leisurely breakfast at COMO Uma Paro, depart for one of the most memorable experiences of your Bhutanese journey in partnership with Heli Bhutan. Board your private helicopter and take to the skies above Bhutan’s remarkable landscapes. As you fly deeper into the Himalayas, enjoy sweeping aerial views of Paro Valley and its monasteries, the dramatic Chele La Pass, the vast expanse of Haa Valley, and the remote wilderness surrounding Baytsho Lake. Your destination is the serene Baytsho Lake, a pristine alpine setting surrounded by forests, mountains, and untouched natural beauty. Upon landing, a curated gourmet picnic awaits, prepared by a private chef and accompanied by a selected bottle of wine. In this peaceful setting, the experience offers a rare opportunity to pause, unwind, and enjoy the landscape together in complete tranquillity.

Returning to COMO Uma Paro in the afternoon, the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may choose to explore the surrounding pine forests on the resort’s complimentary mountain bikes, relax within the grounds, or simply enjoy the views and calm atmosphere of the lodge. Before dinner, indulge in a 75-minute traditional Thai massage designed to ease the body after a day in the mountains and restore a sense of balance and relaxation. The day concludes with a curated dinner inspired by Himalayan flavours and seasonal Bhutanese ingredients, offering a relaxed and elegant end to a day defined by exploration and stillness in equal measure.

Operational Note: Helicopter experiences are subject to weather and operational conditions. Depending on seasonal conditions, the gourmet picnic may be enjoyed as either a late-morning experience or a lunch experience to ensure optimal flying conditions and guest comfort. In rare cases, the experience may be postponed, modified, or cancelled due to weather conditions. Should cancellation occur, a refund will be provided based on the applicable helicopter flight fare.

Day 5
THE DAY OF RIVERS

Following breakfast, set out for the beautiful Mo Chhu River, one of Bhutan's most picturesque waterways. Flowing gently through the fertile Punakha Valley, the river originates from the glacial peaks of the Himalayas before winding past forests, traditional villages, and ancient monasteries. Together with the neighbouring Pho Chhu, it forms the lifeblood of the valley and creates the spectacular setting surrounding Punakha Dzong. Depending on the season and water conditions, embark on an exciting white-water rafting adventure accompanied by experienced local guides. The journey combines calm stretches of crystal-clear water with exhilarating rapids, offering a unique perspective of the valley as you paddle beneath suspension bridges, past riverside farmland, and alongside Bhutan's breathtaking natural scenery.

After your adventure, a beautifully prepared gourmet picnic awaits on the peaceful banks of the river. Surrounded by flowing water, towering forests, and the tranquil atmosphere of the Himalayas, enjoy a leisurely lunch while taking in one of the Kingdom's most beautiful landscapes. Return to &Beyond Punakha River Lodge in the afternoon, where the remainder of the day is dedicated to relaxation.
