Day 1 – Arrival in Bhutan | Into the Hills of Thimphu
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your private guide and transferred by luxury SUV through the Himalayan valleys to Postcard Hotel, an intimate five-star retreat perched above the capital. Surrounded by pine forests and panoramic mountain views, the property offers a quiet introduction to Bhutan. You will stay in the private Dawa Suite, where a dedicated butler will attend to your comfort throughout your stay. With flexible check-in and a deliberately unhurried arrival day, there is time to settle into the altitude and rhythm of the mountains. A welcome drink awaits upon arrival, followed by an exclusive dinner curated by a private chef, marking the beginning of your Bhutanese journey.
Day 2 – Helicopter Picnic Above the Himalayas
The morning begins with a leisurely luxury breakfast overlooking the valley before transferring to Heli Bhutan for one of the journey’s defining experiences. Board a private helicopter flight into the high Himalayas, soaring above monasteries, forests, and glacial landscapes before landing near the breathtaking Twin Lakes. Here, a fully curated gourmet picnic awaits, prepared by a private chef and accompanied by fine wine and champagne in complete seclusion among Bhutan’s mountain wilderness. Returning to Thimphu by air, the evening shifts into stillness and restoration with a private couples massage and wellness experience before dinner.
Day 3 – Into the Punakha Valley
After breakfast, depart Thimphu by helicopter for a scenic transfer into the lush subtropical valley of Punakha. Your destination is River Lodge, an exclusive riverside retreat blending adventure, wilderness, and refined luxury. Upon arrival at your private tented villa, your personal butler will welcome you for a fully inclusive stay surrounded by forests, rice terraces, and the sounds of the river. As the sun begins to lower, an optional guided walk through nearby villages offers a gentle introduction to Punakha’s landscapes and local life before returning for dinner beneath the Himalayan sky.
Day 4 – White Gold | Rivers of Punakha
Today is shaped by exploration and movement through Bhutan’s river valleys. Following breakfast, embark on a guided rafting, kayaking, or canoeing experience depending on the season and river conditions. Floating through the Punakha Valley reveals a different side of Bhutan, where white-water currents meet ancient monasteries and untouched nature. A luxury picnic lunch will be arranged beside the river before returning to the lodge for an open afternoon. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace, whether exploring Punakha town, relaxing within the lodge, or simply slowing down beside the river.
Day 5 – Cultural Immersion & Sacred Traditions
The day begins with breakfast before continuing deeper into Bhutan’s spiritual and cultural heritage. Travel into Punakha Valley to visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most iconic fortresses, dramatically positioned at the meeting point of two rivers. Following lunch, continue to a nearby monastery for a traditional blessing ceremony led by local monks, offering a quiet and intimate connection to Bhutanese spirituality and ritual traditions. The evening remains unstructured, allowing time for rest, exploration, or private experiences arranged upon request.
Day 6 – Return to Paro | Mountain Serenity
After breakfast, depart Punakha by private helicopter, crossing mountain passes and forested valleys on your return to Paro. Upon arrival, check into COMO Uma Paro, one of Bhutan’s most refined luxury lodges, set above the emerald Paro Valley. A traditional welcome ceremony marks your arrival before the remainder of the day unfolds entirely at your own pace. Explore the character-filled streets of Paro town, enjoy a scenic bicycle ride and picnic through the valley, or simply retreat into the calm of the lodge and its wellness facilities.
Day 7 – Tiger’s Nest & Himalayan Stillness
Your final full day in Bhutan is dedicated to the country’s most iconic pilgrimage site, Paro Taktsang, widely known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery. The ascent winds through pine forests and dramatic Himalayan viewpoints before revealing the monastery suspended against the cliffs high above the valley floor. Both physically and spiritually powerful, the experience remains one of Bhutan’s defining moments. After returning to the lodge, the afternoon is reserved for rest and reflection. In the evening, enjoy a private couples massage, a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath, and a final luxury dinner celebrating your journey through the Kingdom.
Day 8 – Departure
A final quiet morning in the Himalayas before your private transfer to Paro International Airport for departure.
