Day 1 – Arrival in Bhutan | Into the Himalayas
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be welcomed by your private guide before beginning the scenic drive toward Postcard Hotel, a peaceful boutique retreat nestled above the capital Surrounded by pine-covered hills and crisp mountain air, the hotel offers an intimate introduction to Bhutan. You will stay in a Premier Room with time to rest and acclimatize after your journey. The evening begins with a welcome drink followed by a relaxed dinner inspired by Bhutanese flavors and seasonal ingredients.
Day 2 – Bhutan From the Sky
After breakfast, depart for a private scenic helicopter journey with Heli Bhutan. Today’s experience offers an aerial exploration of the Paro Valley, flying above ancient monasteries, forested ridges, and the iconic Paro Taktsang, known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Seen from the sky, the sacred site reveals an entirely different perspective suspended dramatically against the cliffs. Return to Thimphu in the afternoon where the remainder of the day is dedicated to rest, wellness, and quiet moments before dinner.
Day 3 – Across the Mountain Passes to Punakha
This morning, depart Thimphu by luxury SUV and journey eastward through winding mountain roads and panoramic Himalayan scenery toward Punakha Valley. Upon arrival at River Lodge, settle into your private tented accommodation surrounded by rivers, forests, and rice terraces. The lodge blends wilderness with understated comfort, creating a deeply relaxing atmosphere immersed in nature. As evening approaches, guests may choose to enjoy a peaceful countryside walk before returning for dinner by the river.
Day 4 – Rivers & Open Landscapes
Following breakfast, the day unfolds through the waterways and landscapes of Punakha. Depending on the season, enjoy a guided rafting, canoeing, or kayaking experience through the valley, passing suspension bridges, remote villages, and untouched riverbanks framed by the Himalayas. A scenic riverside picnic is arranged before returning to the lodge for an afternoon entirely at leisure. Spend the evening unwinding within the peaceful surroundings of the property or exploring the nearby valley at your own pace.
Day 5 – Monasteries & Traditions
Today focuses on Bhutan’s spiritual and cultural heritage. After breakfast, visit the remarkable Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most important and visually striking monasteries, located at the meeting point of two rivers. Later, continue to a nearby temple for a traditional blessing ceremony led by local monks, offering an intimate connection to Bhutanese customs and sacred traditions. The remainder of the evening is left open for relaxation or optional experiences.
Day 6 – Return to Paro Valley
After breakfast, begin the return journey toward Paro, crossing mountain passes lined with prayer flags and dense Himalayan forests. Upon arrival, check into COMO Uma Paro, a serene mountain lodge overlooking the valley below. The afternoon is free to enjoy as you wish. Explore the town of Paro, enjoy a gentle bicycle ride through the countryside, or simply relax within the calm atmosphere of the lodge.
Day 7 – The Tiger’s Nest Experience
Your final full day in Bhutan is devoted to the legendary Paro Taktsang. The hike gradually ascends through pine forests and mountain viewpoints before revealing the monastery dramatically perched against the cliffs high above the valley floor. After returning to the lodge, the afternoon invites rest and reflection before concluding the journey with a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath, couples massage, and farewell dinner.
Day 8 – Departure
Enjoy a final peaceful morning in Paro before your private transfer to the airport for departure.
